The refurbishment, redesign and expansion of the Ferry Dusika Stadium required as the first step the disposal of the asbestos material, which was located at the inner side of the steel membrane roof.

In the further course technical improvements had to be carried out such as the repair of concrete elements and the renewal of the cladding applying an aluminum façade.

Furthermore the mechanical equipment was renewed in order to improve the energy efficiency.

The extension of the stadium at the ground floor and at the gallery level served the circulation purpose as well as the creation of new rooms for administration, lockers and sanitary rooms for sports events.

The cycling track was also renewed and rebuilt in such a way that the linear parts can be removed in order to install visitor seats closer to the middle field. A mechanical uplifting part of the cycling track enables levelled access to the middle field for the erection of diverse event equipment.

For handicapped people a special plateau was built accessible by a ramp.
